Mission Statement:

 Our mission is to consolidate and reinforce efforts to improve conditions of human life in the United States by organizing resources in such a way as to increase efficacy, breadth, and comprehension of the tenets from which they appear.

Vision:

Our vision is of a world in which the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is upheld for and by all; which embraces a lasting solidarity with the human condition; and which places sound philosophy at the mantle of justice by an educated and liberated population in the name of posterity and peace.

 Our values assert:

  • The unshakeable belief that all people, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, orientation, or socioeconomic position, deserve the opportunity to achieve their highest form of self-actualization.  
  • That Quixotic Republic operates under the premise that until all hierarchical social structures have been abolished and human equality attained, that redistributive justice must be sought, mutual aid must be exalted, and all forms of inhuman cruelty must be brought into collective awareness to be thwarted by any available peaceful means. 
  • That the empowerment of every individual through advocacy, education, and organization is the surest means to human liberation, and thus, must not be encumbered. 
  • That the development of small localized collectives led by those most intimately familiar with the unique and systemic challenges faced in each community is essential to the realization of a lasting and positive peace. 
  • That mutual aid, assistance, and/or clemency is born out of a solidarity with the human condition and not from a place of judgement or castigation. Poverty is a condition maintained through coercion and human-made structures, and it can be eliminated.  
  • That the right of all to self expression must remain unabridged, except where those expressions seek the injury or minimization of another as a necessary clause to their disposition. Such viewpoints and their purveyors must be excluded from any community which values equality, peace, and sustainability, as they are its opposite. 
  • That Earth is humankind’s only home and must be protected as such. 

History:

The Quixotic Republic was born out of the struggle to be heard by a system that is unresponsive to the needs of its citizens. Evidence from the disastrous Citizens United ruling that silenced those voices without monetary “speech” to the subversion of efforts to elect Senator Bernie Sanders, Our system has shirked responsibility to the needs of common citizens, especially those who concern themselves with collective well-being. Quixotic Republic’s founder began efforts toward unity in 2011 following the loss of employment resulting from Scott Walker’s assault on unions where he delivered grievances to the Senate subcommittee in Madison, WI. Working alongside Occupy, continued efforts led to organizing protests and mutual aid around the country, while disseminating information to raise awareness. Those campaigns flowed into the grassroots campaigns of Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020, which culminated in disillusionment with the Democratic Party as a vessel for meaningful “change”. This deterioration continued in 2024 as, despite millions of warnings, Democrats refused to acknowledge concerns for the ongoing genocide in Gaza, inaction on student loan debt, worsening inequality, poverty, and the desperation inflicted on millions by a broken healthcare apparatus, gambling people’s lives. As a result, a fascist was reelected with bold new powers imparted by a corrupt Supreme Court and a brazen disregard for the livelihoods of even those who supported him. These core issues, in addition to the abolition of the prison, military, and pharmaceutical industrial complexes, remain at the center of our concerns following over a decade of education, agitation, and organization.     

What we do:

 The goal is to continue the work of organizing, agitating, and educating, but more specifically, the following:

  •  Toward Organization, the aim is to bolster coordination between existing non-profit organizations and mutual aid efforts by consolidating access to their resources into a single location and offering means to seek out additional resources. In addition to this, all profits from Quixotic Republic merchandise are distributed across these endeavors on a monthly basis. 
  • Toward Agitation, Quixotic Republic features merchandise including stickers, flags, posters, and apparel with pointed messaging aimed at inspiring discourse and furthering the messages reflected in the core values of this organization. In addition to these personal venues, efforts toward public messaging are also available. Donations to public advertising on billboards, radios, and television broadcasts will also be ongoing until each threshold is overcome. 
  • Toward Education, the Quixotic Republic website features a growing library of the philosophical works underpinning the goals set forth by the organization. These texts are shared without cost, as we believe all things should be. Donations toward the maintenance of these libraries are welcome, though not mandatory, and memberships are available for recurring donations.

Who we serve:

We serve humanity. The schism between leftist and right-wing thought is notable in our philosophy, because at the center of the organization is a drive toward decentralization. Vertical structures lend to hierarchical thinking and developments that do not align with the values of the Quixotic Republic. It is, however, in line with this thinking that all people deserve dignity and self-actualization, regardless of their specific features. It is through such efforts that unity becomes undeniable, and authoritarian structures rendered obsolete.

Leadership:

The Quixotic Republic maintains a horizontal leadership structure wherein those who hold a specialization particular to an aspect of the goals endeavored by it are encouraged into recognition based on the aptitudes exhibited by the individual. Democratic means are regularly employed within each field to lift a member’s voice as is needed to most effectively accomplish the tasks in focus.

Call to Action:

Quixotic Republic is itself a call to action. As the political system in the world’s most powerful nation drifts out of touch with its constituency, the world is increasingly imperilled. No other nation occupies the globe in the same way that the US does economically, technologically, politically, and militarily. These industries represent unelected representatives in these contexts, and it is the responsibility of the majority to return control to its rightful place. No taxation without representation. We must demand that the projects paid for with our tax money represent the values we hold as a nation. Through the creation and coordination of widespread local organizations, the groundwork for those who find their voices missing in the political landscape to create something new emerges. With this task in mind, it is imperative that the urgent need for representation be fulfilled. As the Democratic Party compromises its way toward authoritarianism, it is of the utmost importance that a new organization provides balance, and through this balance, higher aims may be achieved. “QR Code” stickers, apparel, and merchandise are available that link this website’s resources.
